Zim Shipping

Israeli shipping group Zim Integrated Shipping Services has announced that it will be introducing a general rate increase from 1 July, according to a report from Port2Port.

The increase will be on all shipments from Asia to South America, the company revealed.

The freight rise will reportedly stand at US$500 per 20-foot container and US$1,000 per 40-foot container.

In a statement, the company commented: 'The rate increase is necessary in view of market conditions and current unsustainable rate levels and in order to continue to operate our services with the same high levels of reliability and service to customers.'
