Port of Seattle

The service will supply the US through the Port of Seattle

The logistics company DHL has launched a direct Less than Container Load (LCL) service that will cut shipping time between China and the US.

According to a report in the Bradenton Herald, the service, which will run directly between Shanghai and Seattle, can reduce the transit time between China and the US by four days, providing faster shipping times for important commodities such as grain, seeds, fruit, machinery, fish and seaweed. Shipments on the service would be received in the US within 12 days, stated the report.

“Most of the freight arriving on the west coast comes into the Port of Los Angeles, so by DHL offering a direct service into Seattle we are not only providing customers shorter transit times, but also lessening the carbon footprint,” said DHL Global Forwarding North America director of LCL Tara Caputo.
