Asia Fruit Logistica opening 2010

Key decision-makers from global retail giant Tesco and major importer Univeg Group will be at Asia Fruit Logistica 2011, looking to source the best that the Asian fresh produce market has to offer.

Around 4,000 visitors from 50 different countries are expected to attend Asia's leading fresh produce trade show, which takes place on 7-9 September at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

'My plans are to meet with some key industry contacts and to look around the display halls for potential new products,' said Johnathan Sutton, who is responsible for sourcing food products from within Asia and Oceania for Tesco Group Food Sourcing in Thailand.

'We are always looking for new opportunities in the region and Asia Fruit Logistica is a good platform to engage with the Asia-focused industry.'

Univeg Germany's managing director Tom Paemeleire is attending the show for the first time, and reaffirmed the company's plans to expand its horizons in the East. 'Our interest in this networking opportunity is great – clearly Asia is a strong market and a source of growing importance to us.'

Asia Fruit Logistica runs alongside Asiafruit Congress, Asia's leading fresh produce conference event, with delegates attending Asiafruit Congress also enjoying access to Asia Fruit Logistica.
