Singapore-based container carrier APL has received the Global Ocean Carrier of the Year award as well as the Innovation IT award at the Containerisation International Awards.
According to a media release from the company, the recognition comes hot on the heels of Lloyd’s List awarding the company its Ship Operator Award at the publication’s global awards, last month.
“We’re delighted to once more be recognised by industry peers for shipping excellence,” said APL president Kenneth Glenn. “This is an affirmation of our focus on providing customers with schedule reliability and service integrity.”
The company was awarded the Innovation IT award for its proprietary SMARTemp service, which uses satellite tracing to monitor temperature and humidity in refrigerated containers.
