NOL APL ship

Container shipping group, The New World Alliance (TNWA), yesterday (January 19) announced the launch of a new service connecting Europe, the UK and the US East Coast and Panama.

The new Americas Europe Express (AEE) – starting February 29 – is TNWA's third dedicated transatlantic service, offering multiple weekly sailings from major US and European ports, as well as competitive transit times from Latin America to North Europe via Panama, TNWA member APL said in a press release.

The alliance, which comprises container lines APL, Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM) and Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL), will deploy high-reefer capacity ships with an average effective capacity of 3,200 TEU, the statement said.

The AEE service rotation covers Manzanillo port (Panama), Charleston (US), New York (US), Rotterdam (the Netherlands), Bremerhaven (Germany), Felixstowe (UK), New York (US), Charleston (US and Manzanillo (Panama).

APL will operate three vessels, and HMM and MOL one vessel each.

The inaugural westbound service will leave Rotterdam on February 29, and the first eastbound vessel will sail from Manzanillo on March 5.
