Good agricultural practices are playing an increasingly important role in Asia and the topic will be one of a number highlighted at this year’s Asiafruit Congress.

Christine Brunel-Ligneau of Bayer CropScience, and Hans Peter Reust of Star Farm Consulting Co, will join Kerstin Uhlig from GlobalGAP and Chusak Chuenprayoth from Kamphaeng-Saen Commercial and the ThaiGAP Institute to speak on the topic of agricultural standards in Asia and their importance on a wider global scale.

Bayer CropScience and Star Farm in China collaborate in a capacity that is highly contributive to sustainable agriculture as well as being consistent in terms of traceability and quality. Brunel-Ligneau and Reust will share the benefits their collaboration brings, respectively.

Later in the day Kenneth Lee from Top Weal, a wholesaler and distributor of high-quality fruit and vegetables in Hong Kong, will speak in the Korean spotlight breakout session from the perspective of an importer of Korean produce and will be joined by Chang Hwa Oh of major Korean importer Jinwon Trading.

As well as hearing from leading industry experts, delegates will have the opportunity of visiting Arrive Taste Store in Kowloon, followed by Elements (360) Store, also in Kowloon, to broaden their understanding of Asia’s growing retail sector.

Asia’s leading fresh produce conference event will be held at the new state-of-the-art AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong on 5-7 September 2012, and offers those interested in this exciting market a comprehensive overview of the latest trends and developments.

Some 600 delegates from almost 40 different countries are expected to attend this year’s event.
