Generic mangoes

Mexican mango supplier Agricola Daniella is once again allowed to ship its branded mangoes to the US, after the Food and Drug Adminstration lifted an import alert that has been in place since late 2012.

Last year, the company's fruit was linked to 127 cases of salmonella in the US, leading to Daniella brand fruit being pulled from the shelves, The Packer reported.

However, the group has now completed food safety programmes and audits allowing the import alert to be lifted.

“We are very proud of the process we concluded, because it will reactivate the dynamics of our production and will allow hundreds of people to go back to their jobs, in both sides of the border,” said Agricola Daniella director Daniel Juan Pablo Ibarra, in a news release.
