Canada's 50 best managed companies awards logo

Mastronardi Produce and the Oppenheimer Group have both been named among Canada's 50 best managed companies, a programme that recognises organisations that have implemented world-class business practices and created value in innovative ways.

It marked the fifth consecutive year that Mastronardi had appeared in the list, and the 13th year in a row for Oppy – making it a member of the prestigious platinum club, for those companies appearing in the list for more than five years.

Sponsored by Deloitte, CIBC, National Post, Queen's School of Business and MacKay CEO Forums, the programme sees applicants reviewed by an independent judging panel that evaluates how companies address various business challenges, including new technologies, globalisation, brand management, leadership and hiring talent.

“It is a huge accomplishment to be named one of Canada’s Best Managed companies for five consecutive years,” stated Mastronardi chief executive Paul Mastronardi. “I am extremely proud and would like to extend my thanks and congratulations to each and every employee who made this possible, including those at our operations in other countries.”

John Anderson, chairman, president and CEO of Oppy, noted that it was not just experience but also a strategic approach and an entrepreneurial spirit that enabled his group to sustain its run among the top companies.
