Best Price Walmart India

Walmart India has launched its B2B e-commerce platform, allowing members to buy wholesale products online in Hyderabad and Lucknow from 1 July.

“This initiative is aimed at enhancing our members’ shopping experience by integrating physical and digital store presence,” said Walmart India chief executive Krish Iyer in a company statement.

Walmart has held workshops in both cities to promote the benefits of online retail, and aims to deliver its products to stores within 24 hours of being ordered.

With 20 retail outlets in India operating under the Best Price brand, Iyer told Reuters in June that e-commerce sites would be rolled out to the remaining 18 stores, but not for another six months at least.

The US retail giant has been operating wholesale cash-and-carry stores in India since 2009, but has been unable to expand its physical retails stores due to the country’s restrictions on foreign investment in multibrand retail.
