The apple season is underway for FirstFruits Marketing of Washington, a company representing the largest contiguous apple grower in the US while also being the exclusive marketer of Opal apples.

This year, FirstFruits has announced that it will offer new ultra mesh bags along with its traditional packaging.

After kicking off the season in August with gala apples, FirstFruits is currently packing its proprietary Sweetie apple. Also known as gala’s sweeter, crunchier cousin, this Braeburn and Royal Gala hybrid is 'intensely sweet and juicy with a crunchy texture' and is available for a limited time only.

In October, FirstFruits will be offering the Jubilee Fuji apple, one of the earliest and sweetest Fuji apples of the season. Named after the Jubilee Youth Ranch that it was discovered near, Jubilee promises 'fresh, autumn flavours'. Jubilee will be offered both organically and conventionally.

FirstFruits will also offer the Opal apple to customers beginning in November. Arriving one month earlier than last year, the yellow apple is crunchy and sweet with a hint of tang and naturally resists oxidation, making it slow to brown. As the exclusive marketer of the Opal, FirstFruits will be offering Opal in both organic and conventional with expected supplies through March.

In addition, FirstFruits will offer a full line of ultra mesh apple bags. The new bag provides distinctive graphic impact on display and allows for improved product visibility with a broad high resolution facing that calls out the variety.

“We are very excited about our new ultra mesh bags because they will provide outstanding product visibility, a convenient handle for consumers and the ‘stand-up’ visibility that drives consumer impulse buys,” said Keith Matthews, CEO of FirstFruits Marketing of Washington. “The ultra mesh bags will nicely complement our selection of poly and stand-up poly bags.”
