Wyma wash beetroot

New Zealand-based post-harvest equipment manufacturer Wyma will unveil its new Vege-Polisher this week.

The company’s Australasian customers have been invited to a launch event at Wyma’s manufacturing facility in Hornby on Thursday (9 October), where the vegetable polisher’s design features will be revealed for the first time.

Wyma has touted the new machinery as smarter, safer and more hygienic than any other polisher on the market.

“The design enhancements of the Vege-Polisher are the result of over 20 years refinement, based on insightful customer feedback,” Wyma said in a company release.

“The results are: smart, automated machine operation via touch screen - a first for the vegetable polishing industry; improved access for maintenance and cleaning; turnkey electrical solution – meaning no more onsite wiring required; refined water application to improve water distribution and hygiene; and increased safety compliance with RFID safety switches.”

Perspective customers in the North American and European markets will be able to view the new technology at tradeshows over January and February 2015.

Wyma sells their lines of post-harvest vegetable equipment to over 35 countries worldwide, with 97 per cent of sales made to customers offshore. Around 50 per cent of all sales are made to the European market.
