Officials from Mexico and Portugal held a series of workshops last week in Mexico City designed to increase cooperation and trade in agricultural products.

It follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding between SAGARPA and Portugal’s Ministry of Agriculture and Sea in March to boost bilateral trade.

The agreement provides for the establishment of a working group to advance procedures relating to export permits and health protocols for plant products and animals.
