Peru FL 2017

Peru's fresh produce industry enjoyed a healthy Fruit Logisitca in Berlin last week, according to statistics released by the country's Foreign Trade and Tourism Ministry.

Companies participating in the three-day event, a 330-strong delegation in total, generated business of over US$200m, Andina reported.

Foreign trade and tourism minister Eduardo Ferreyros noted that, boosted by the roll-out of the 'Superfoods Peru' campaign – the country's new initiative promoting Peru's diverse food offering – the US$200m figure had beaten expectations by 32 per cent.

'We can highlight the presence of buyers from Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, France, Russia, Italy, the United Kingdom, India and China, who approached the Peruvian pavilion with high expectations,' he told Andina.
Peru's most popular products at Fruit Logistica 2017 were avocados, pomegranates, blueberries and grapes, Ferreyros added.
