Pretty Lady Vineyards grapes

In the US, Pretty Lady Vineyards has announce the launch of its new top-seal packaging for multiple programmes of its premium red, green, black, and bicolour grape varieties.

As one of the first companies in the American grape industry to implement stand up bags into their packaging options nearly a decade ago, the California-based group said that it prided itself on staying ahead of the curve when it came to innovation and market trends.

“The marketplace is never stagnant. It does not sit still. The market has different needs at different times and we must try to deliver what the market wants,” said Pretty Lady president of sales and marketing Nick Dulcich. “Innovations and investments in the future always pay off.”

Inspired by rising European food trends, top-seal packaging offers many advantages, such as ensuring food safety and minimising any chance of product tampering.

They also drastically reduce material waste, provide a more consistent product for retailers, and are more efficient from a packing standpoint.

In addition to their new top-seals, Pretty Lady has invested in a state-of-the-art, multi-million-dollar packing facility, in an effort to create the most efficient way to pick, pack, and ship grapes.

The new facility helps enable the company dial in the weight and quality much more effectively than manual packing, reducing a substantial amount of costs while providing a more precise package weight to customers.

“At the end of the day, everything we do is to provide our customers with safe, good-eating, quality grapes,” Dulcich added. “Day-by-day, year-by-year, we sit here, we do our work, we listen, we visit customers, and we assess what we need to do to succeed.”
