European flavours

Italian fresh produce marketing body Centro Servizi Ortofrutticoli (CSO) has hailed the success of its overseas mission to promote the European Flavors campaign at the PMA Fresh Summit trade show in Orlando, Florida, on 24-27 October.

“Our large and functional stand proved popular with visitors due to its modern appeal and attractive visual layout,” explained CSO president Paolo Bruni.

“European fruit and vegetables were also the focus of an evening function held at the Peabody Hotel in Orlando, where CSO managing director Renzo Piraccini outlined the three-year project to promote the consumption of European fruits and vegetables in the US, Russia and Japan as part of a healthy lifestyle,” Mr Bruni added.

The PMA Fresh Summit also provided an ideal platform to demonstrate to the main players in the US market the organoleptic and nutritional qualities of Italian fruit and vegetables in particular, according to Mr Bruni.

“The exhibition provided a great opportunity to establish numerous contacts with leading American operators, who expressed interest in suppliers of kiwifruit, table grapes, clementines and lemons,” he said.

European Flavors is financed by the European Union, the Italian government and members of CSO: Alegra, Apofruit, Consorzio KiwiGold, Granfrutta Zani, Naturitalia and Made in Blu.
