Cutrale, owners of Chiquita Brands International, has achieved a gold score from Sustainable Agriculture Initiative – Farm Sustainability Assessment (SAI-FSA) for its oranges groves in Brazil and the US.

The FSA was developed by the SAI Platform to enable food and drink businesses from all crops and countries to assess, improve and validate on-farm sustainability in their supply chains, covering important aspects related to sustainability such as climate change, health and safety, water usage, food waste and labour conditions.

Cutrale complies to a number of international sustainability and food safety standards and regulations, including GlobalGAP, Rainforest Alliance, ISO and SMETA, across its global juice operation, from production through to processing, sales and distribution.
