A series of expert speakers have confirmed their participation at Fresh Produce India, the leading conference event for the country's fresh produce industry, which takes place on 2-3 April 2009 in Mumbai.

In addition to Arvind K Singhal, the renowned expert on Indian retail and consumer trends who is kicking off this year's event, Ashok Gulati of the International Food Policy Research Institute in India, Steve Leung of Alfa Fruit Packers in China and Joe Ruiz of JBT Foodtech in the US have confirmed participation as speakers at the conference.

Meanwhile, the event will offer delegates the opportunity to take part in guided tours around Mumbai's leading supermarkets, as well as a visit to a wholesale market.

Hypercity (K Raheja Corporation), Spencer's (RPG India Group) and Reliance Fresh (Reliance Retail Limited) will open their doors to Fresh Produce India delegates on Saturday 4 April, while visitors can also experience first hand one of Mumbai's busiest wholesale markets with a visit to APMC Fruit and Vegetable Market in Vashi.

Over 250 delegates, including buyers and suppliers from India and the rest of the world, are due to attend this year's event, making it a two-day conference that serious players in the international fresh produce market cannot afford to miss.

Early registrations and group bookings can benefit from reductions in delegate fees. Register online at www.freshproduceindia.com or contact Alexandra Walker at alexandra@fruitnet.com.
