The US-based Organic Trade Association (OTA) has moved to appoint industry veteran Richard Struthers as its new member development manager.

In the new role, Mr Struthers is set to work to support and expand the trade organisation's diverse membership, the Progressive Grocer reported.

Mr Struthers has previously held sales positions at groups including Northeast Cooperatives, United Natural Foods and Albert's Organics.

'Dick's extensive experience in the organic industry will go a long way towards helping the OTA to better serve its expanding membership,' said group executive director Christine Bushway.
