Leading fresh produce company Univeg has appointed Eric Provoost as business unit manager for its Convenience arm.
Mr Provoost will have responsibility for the group's convenience operations in Europe, where it currently has operations in Belgium, Germany, Portugal and Sweden, and the US.
By making the appointment, the company said it aimed to further increase its competitiveness in the convenience market segment.
Mr Provoost replaces John Valster, who headed up Univeg's Convenience for the last two years. Mr Valster has decided to pursue other career opportunities outside the company.
'We thank John for his commitment and dedication to develop the Convenience business worldwide over the past years and wish him all the best in his new career,' said Hein Deprez, CEO of the Univeg group.
Mr Valster commented: 'Working with Univeg has been an inspiring and challenging period in my career. Good memories will last. The rapid growth of the group and the opportunities deriving from that make Univeg a unique company.
