US-based Russet Potato Exchange (RPE) has announced that it has appointed former Target buyer Randy Shell as its new vice-president for marketing to help cater for the rapid growth of the business.
Mr Shell, who spent 10 years at Target following spells at Supervalu, Scott's Food and Gordon's Foodservice, joined on 11 May and is responsible for new business development, category programming and promotional planning and input into marketing and new product development.

"Randy's previous experience in retail and his track record of success at Target helps us effectively meet the performance needs of all of our customers. This is core to our strategy to offer best-in-class service to our retail partners, and that includes an emphasis on category growth."
Mr Shell said that his experience at Target has given him "great insight", but that he was looking forward to testing his skills in a a new environment where he could help RPE form strategic retail partnerships.
"Randy's passion for the business is contagious and his energy will help our company as we work to explore innovation and retail solutions," Mr Wysocki added.
