The Produce for Better Health Foundation (PBH) is building up to its National Fruits & Veggies-More Matters Month, which takes place in September this year.

The marketing drive, which is designed to encourage consumers to increase their consumption of fresh produce, takes place under the theme of 'Stretching your food budget with fruits and veggies', giving tips on how fresh produce can easily fit into a tight budget.

As part of the campaign, the group has released a number of retail advertising tools including consumer columns, advertising slicks featuring tips on how to get value for money from fresh produce and point-of-sale signs.

'Fruit & Veggies-More Matters is an excellent vehicle for reaching consumers and persuading them to consumer more fruit and vegetables for their better health,' said PBH president and CEO Elizabeth Pivonka. 'We need to remind people to do what they already know they should be doing by distributing the Fruits & Veggies-More Matters message.

'National Fruits & Veggies-More Matters Month offers each of us a real opportunity to promote our commitment to better health by sharing key messages with our customers, employees, family and friends,' she added.
