Maersk reefer boxes

Thomas Eskesen, global head of reefer management at Maersk Line, and Rick Kimura, general manager global reefer management at MOL Liner are the latest senior reefer shipping executives to join the speaker line-up for the second Cool Logistics conference, which is due to take place on 28-30 September at the InterContinental Hotel, Hamburg.

Maersk’s Thomas Eskesen will join a conference debate on the afternoon of 29 September to discuss how the economic and financial crisis has impacted the global reefer shipping business and provide an outlook for 2010.

Other debate panel members include: Alfred Cheung, managing director at ZIM Integrated Shipping Services; John Fossey, editorial director at Containerisation International; and Brian Madderson, managing director of Dover-based fruit handler George Hammond.

On the second day of the event, MOL’s Rick Kimura joins a panel on Identifying New Growth to review development prospects for the intra-Asia reefer trades.

Geared at everyone involved in the international cold chain, Cool Logistics 09 revisits the fundamentals of the global reefer trades and perishable distribution from farm to fork and factory to shelf.

Senior executives from all sides of the business, together with market analysts and technology experts, will provide a comprehensive picture of key trends impacting perishable supply chains on a global scale.

The main two-day conference takes place on 29-30 September, with an optional pre-conference technical workshop on 28 September exploring developments in refrigerated transport technology and track and trace technologies.

With a week to go, the conference has attracted the participation of leading players in global temperature-controlled logistics and transport, along with perishable shippers, importers/exporters and retailers.
