Key Tech compact dryer

Process automation system designer and manufacturer Key Technology has unveiled its new Compact Dryer, designed to remove moisture from fresh-cut produce after washing, featuring new Allen-Bradley controls and a new support frame.

According to the US group, the new support frame has been introduced to ease operation, enhance sanitation and improve worker safety while also maximising reliability, production flexibility and product quality.

Handling a wide variety of products at up to 280kg per hour, the dryer features adjustable settings that ensures moisture removal and quality enhancement of a range of products including leafy salads, shredded and chopped lettuce and cabbage, cut vegetables, herbs, onions, peppers and other produce.

Additionally, the Compact Dryer features a self-draining control box area, which Key Technology says discourages bacteria growth and enhances sanitation.

'Key is focused on providing fresh-cut processors around the world with equipment that will maximise product quality while increasing productivity and cutting costs,' said Teri Johnson, fresh-cut industry manager at Key Technology. 'Continuing to improve the popular Compact Dryer and introducing a CE-marked version are examples of our dedication to the industry.'
