Peru Red Globe grapes

The Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) agency of the USDA has announced that the Red Globe variety will be subject to the inspection requirements of the Marketing Order for table grapes imported into the US, according to a report by Portal Frutícola.

In the statement, AMS/USDA reminded interested parties that the regulation period for imported grapes begins on the new date of 10 April until 10 July.

During that time all imported grapes (except those with exemption) must be inspected and certified as meeting the following minimum grade, size, and maturity requirements of the order prior to importation.

Table grape import requirements do not apply to the following varieties: Almería, Alphonse Lavelle, Barlinka, Bien Donne, Bonheur, Calmeria, Christmas Rose, Dauphine, Emperor, Italia Pirovano, Kyojo, La Rochelle, Moscatel, Queen, Ribier, Rouge, Sonita, Tokay and Waltham Cross.
