NMB

The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) is to administer the first continuation referendum for the National Mango Board (NMB) on 15-26 March, according to a press release.

Eligible mango industry members will receive ballots in the post to vote on the future of NMB’s research and promotion efforts under the Commodity Promotion, Research and Information Act of 1996.

The USDA is required to administer a continuation referendum for NMB every five years.

Mango importers and first handlers who handled 500,000lbs or more of the fruit in 2008 or 2009 are eligible to vote.

An estimated five first handlers and 100 importers will vote in the referendum.
