Chile earthquake damaged road

The Board of the Chilean Exporters Association (ASOEX) has announced a programme to help rebuild schools damaged in the earthquake that hit the principal growing regions in the country on 27 February.

The two agricultural schools that have been selected for the initial repair effort having sustained large amounts of damage are the Escuela Agrícola Cristo Obrero in Graneros, south of Santiago, and the Escuela Agrícola San Vicente de Paul in the Coltauco area.

Asoex has also invited fresh fruit industry colleagues interested in helping rebuild the schools to send donations to a bank account specifically set up for that purpose, with details on the group's website.
