French container shipping line CMA CGM has announced the return of its Yang Tse service linking South, Central and North China to the US West Coast from 10 July.

Operated in partnership with Maersk Line and Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), the service will deploy six 6,500 TEU capacity vessels, covering the ports of Xiamen, Shanghai (Wai Gao Qiao), Qingdao, Long Beach, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong and Xiamen.

The company said the Yang Tse service would allow them to respond to the recovery in trade volume between China and the US by improving transit times on this key trade lane.

The new service will complement the Group's existing services between China and the US West Coast, with the addition of three new calls in Xiamen (eastbound), Hong Kong and Qingdao as well as an extra call in Shanghai (WGQ).

"The Yang Tse service allows CMA CGM to enhance its port coverage and further develop its capacity on the transpacific market in response to the expanding eastbound trade," said CMA CGM's Jean-Philippe Thénoz.
