UK firm Anglia Business Solutions has secured a significant contract with The Giumarra Companies for its award-winning LINKFresh solution through a recently established US joint venture AgFresh Solutions.

The contract, signed on 30 June, sees the group link up with a leading international network of fresh produce growers, distributors and marketers based in Los Angeles, California, according to a press release from Anglia.

This contract will mean that the LINKFresh Microsoft Dynamics NAV based solution will be deployed across multiple Giumarra locations in the US, Mexico and Canada.

“The LINKFresh business application, which replaces Giumarra’s Oracle platform, will provide a complete solution for Giumarra’s business requirements from the grower to the consumer,” Anglia said.

“This includes forecasting, EDI orders, planning, scheduling, intake, quality control, production, pick and despatch, label checking, invoicing and core financials.

“The solution also provides for the real-time capture of information from the pack house using rugged touch screen terminals.

“It also includes state of the art mobile applications for activities such as quality control, managing intake and despatch.”

The project begins in September and will be managed through AgFresh Solutions; a new US-based company formed to promote and deploy LINKFresh to food supply chain organisations in the US.

Tim Riley EVP at The Giumarra Companies said: “We had reached a point where our existing Oracle solution needed upgrading or replacing to meet the future requirements of the business.

“We were impressed with AgFresh’s depth of knowledge of the full supply chain within the fresh produce sector.

“This, coupled with the specific commitment made to the fresh produce industry at a senior level in Microsoft, the largest ERP software vendor in the world, convinced us that LINKFresh was the right solution for The Giumarra Companies.”

The LINKFresh team worked closely with Microsoft on the ground in southern California to secure the contract.

“We are delighted to see Anglia’s Microsoft Dynamics-based LINKFresh solution enter the US market,” commented Doug Kennedy, vice-president at Microsoft Dynamics.

“We are committed to working with customers in the fresh produce industry to fully understand their business requirements. This will ensure that partners like Anglia and AgFresh are able to develop and deliver world class solutions that meet their needs.”
