Walmart new logo

Wal-Mart has officially unveiled its new logo as part of its ongoing rebranding exercise. The updated logo is made up of rounded, lowercase characters and replaces the uppercase letters the retailer has used for the past 17 years.

The pointy star that served as a hyphen has gone and a symbol resembling a flower now appears after the Wal-Mart name, which will now be written as 'Walmart'.

“Wal-Mart’s US store locations will update store logos as part of an ongoing evolution of its overall brand,” the store said in a statement.

The new logo is part of an attempt to give the retailer a more environmentally-friendly image. Over the past two years, Wal-Mart has increased its offering of sustainable packaging and products, as well as reduced the energy consumption of its fleet of trucks.
