Liner shipping group Hapag-Lloyd has announced this week that it is to resume calls at Fos in Marseille during mid-October, more than two months after suspending visits as a result of congestion.
On 2 August, Hapag-Lloyd released a statement saying that ongoing congestion caused by strike action and terminal operations at Fos meant it was no longer able to maintain a reliable service schedule, immediately discontinuing bookings.
However, the German group has said that services will resume next month, beginning with MCA (Canada) on 14 October, MGX (US Gulf/Mexico) on 17 October and MPS (US Pacific) on 22 October.
Elsewhere, Hapag has said that it is suspending its ASE service to and from South Africa, and will no longer be accepting cargo.
'For cargo between South Africa and Asia and vice-versa, please use our existing WSX service (Asia South/West Africa Express),' the group noted.
