Leading US celery grower-processor Duda Farm Fresh Foods has unveiled its latest product at this year's PMA Fresh Summit, a new red celery variety that will be marketed under the group's Celery Sensations brand.
The new variety has come to market after 20 years of research, The Packer reported, with vice-president Sammy Duda saying that it could help reintroduce consumers to celery.
'Not only is this visually appealing but it's tasty as well,' he said. 'This new colour adds vibrancy and unique looks never seen before in celery.
'We are adding a whole host of excitement to the celery category.'
