Eurofruit Congress Middle East 2010, the Middle East's only fresh produce conference and networking event, begins in Dubai today, with a full conference programme set to offer around 200 delegates from the international trade an opportunity to learn about the Middle East market and meet with potential new customers.

This year's Eurofruit Congress Middle East takes place at the Shangri-La Hotel in Dubai on 1-3 November and boasts an impressive line-up of speakers, including Rizwin Razak of Saudi Arabian hypermarket operator Lulu and Jeyaram Subramanian of UAE-based distributor Barakat.

Among the main topics for discussion will be the potential for India to supply a greater volume of fresh fruit and vegetables to countries in the region, and a special look at the Middle East's growing berry industry and its role in supplyng markets around the world.

As well as a full conference programme, delegates will also be able to visit Emirates SkyCargo and Dubai's Al Aweer Fruit & Vegetable Wholesale Market as part of two specially organised study tours.
