Custom Pak race car marketing

Florida-based produce importer-distributor Custom Pak partnered with TRG Motorsports on 21 November as an associate sponsor of the #71 race car for the NASCAR Sprint Cup season finale at Homestead Motor Speedway in Florida.

“For Custom Pak, the exposure to consumers provided significant national reach for their popular heirloom style tomato known for its authentic tomato flavour,” the company said in a news statement.

“With 70,000 fans in attendance and nearly 200,000 viewers watching live on ESPN, Vintage Ripe tomatoes received important consumer face time.”

The #71 car, featuring Vintage Ripe tomato branding, was driven by Andrew Lally, who finished 29th in the 400-lap race and 43-car field.

The race was the final race of a 36 race series that culminated in naming the NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion.

“We are always eager to participate in local events and expand our brand presence,” said Darren Micelle, chief marketing officer at Custom Pak.

“The proximity of the Homestead Motor Speedway to some of our key growing regions made this sponsorship opportunity a great fit. The added exposure with a national TV audience also provided us with a great incentive to promote our Vintage Ripe tomatoes and build greater brand awareness.”

Vintage Ripe tomatoes are available year-round exclusively from Custom Pak, which operates tomato and seasonal vegetable growing and packing facilities throughout the US and Mexico.
