The Delhaize Group CEO has said the retailer sees the potential to open hundreds of outlets in Indonesia.

“Starting in 2012 we will accelerate our growth in Indonesia.” he was quoted as saying in Beste Belegger magazine. “Our concept works very well and we are profitable there. Thanks to the size of the country, there is enormous potential there.”

The company already has experience with retailing in the country owning 51 per cent of supermarket chain Super Indo, which operates 73 outlets in the islands of Java and Sumatra.
