In the US, Florida Citrus Mutual’s board of directors has announced its elected officers for the 2012/13 season, with Mark Wheeler of Wheeler Farms Inc serving as the group's president during the year, succeeding Victor Story.

'Over the past two years Vic Story has done a tremendous job as president of Mutual,' said Michael Sparks, executive vice-president and CEO of Florida Citrus Mutual. 'Mark has a tough act to follow but I know he is up for the challenge and I look forward to working with him.'

Wheeler noted: 'I’m proud to serve on the board of Florida Citrus Mutual and humbled to be elected President. I’ll do my best to maintain the bar set by Vic Story.'

The group also elected its vice-presidents for the 2012/13 campaign, wit positions taken by Bo Bentley of Winter Haven, Kevin Bynum of Vero Beach, Larry Black of Fort Meade and Steve Johnson of Wauchula. Steve Sorrells of Arcadia was re-elected as secretary and Dennis Broadaway of Haines City was re-elected as treasurer.

The elections took place at FCM'sl 64th annual meeting which was held at the Florida Citrus Industry Annual Conference in Bonita Springs on 14 June 14.

Mutual also officially installed its 21-member board of directors at the annual meeting, with each director serving a one-year term, with a term limit of two years for the president.
