Carrefour, the France-based international retail giant, has announced that it will relocate its Zhenzhou-X'ian-Urumqi headquarters to Zhengzhou, Henan Province, in addition to setting up a regional procurement centre in the city.

The introduction of the procurement centre will make more Henan products available to Carrefour outlets in other Chinese cities, director of public affairs Bao Zheng told China Knowledge.

Mr Zheng added that Carrefour's outlet at Zhengzhou's north ring road was one of the top five stores for sales growth rate in the country.

Local press reports have claimed that Carrefour will open 10 stores in Henan within the next two years, with some of those in Zhengzhou.
