The US has this month received an Indian trade delegation from the Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry to boost bilateral trade between the two countries, The Hindu Business Line reports.

According to a chamber media release, the delegation consisted of 45 members, who held discussions with franchisors and were presented with 400 franchise opportunities by industry representatives from several different countries.

Discussions were also held on which brands and products were suitable for franchise in Tamil Nadu, with fast foods, 7-Eleven stores and beverages among those deemed to have potential.

The delegation also put forward the export of certain agricultural products and various processed food products that could be successful in the US market.

The discussions were conducted with Elizabeth Rose Daly, the director of the Mayor’s Office For International Affairs and Business, in New York. Her office provided assurances of extending all necessary assistance for securing office buildings, factory shed and warehouses in the US.
