NFC members at Asia Fruit Logistica

Four Egyptian grower-shipper companies that have traditionally worked independently exporting to European and UK markets have joined forces to create a new export company targeting Asia – Nile Fruits Horticulture (NFC).

Exhibiting for the first time at Asia Fruit Logistica in Hong Kong in September under their NFC banner, executives from Agrostar, Technogreen, Wadi Orchards and FayedEx collectively hope to make inroads into the Hong Kong and China markets, initially with citrus and grapes.

NFC board member and FayedEx chairman Hamdy Fayed told Fruitnet: “The challenge with China is that there is only a protocol for Egypt and China for citrus. We are trying to have products like grapes and strawberries and other products approved.”

Egypt was the fifth top exhibiting country at Asia Fruit Logistica this year, with 21 companies from the North African country represented.
