New Zealand apple growing consortium the Heartland Fruit Group has unveiled its new Eve Juice offering in Malaysia.
Made from Eve apples, a variety cultivated only in New Zealand, the single strain juice is being sold exclusively through the GCH Retail Group.
Brendon Osborn, general manager of Heartland Fruit, says his company chose to launch the juice in Malaysia because the market’s discerning consumers show a distinct preference for high-quality, pure apple juice.
“Because we love apples, over the years we have fine-tuned a rigorous quality process which ensures that every block of our orchard produces consistent good quality apples,” Osborn explains. “With great apples comes great juice. Eve Juice is a pure, fresh and beautiful cloudy juice with no added sugar, so you can actually taste a bottle-full of Eve apples.”
To celebrate the arrival of Eve Juice, Heartland Fruit held a global launch event at a GCH-owned retail store in Kuala Lumpur. As part of the launch, chef Roizz from the Berjaya University College of Hospitality held a cooking demonstration using Eve apples, Eve Juice and a range of Luv’ya apples from Heartland Fruit.
New Zealand Trade Commissioner Matt Ritchie was also in attendance. Ritchie took the opportunity to highlight the growing demand for premium New Zealand grown products.
“Research in New Zealand reveals that consumers are moving towards natural additive-free products, and are willing to pay a higher price for a quality product,” Ritchie says. “Our apples, much like our other fruits, are sought after globally for their superior quality. This comes essentially from the earth, climate and environment they are cultivated in.”
GCH will sell 1l glass bottles of Eve Juice through its Jason’s Food Hall, Mercato and Cold Storage retail chains.“We pride ourselves in delighting our customers with new arrivals in gourmet gastronomy from all over the world,” says Mie Shareen, store manager of Jason’s Food Hall. “Having the world launch of Eve Juice at Jason’s Food Hall is indeed an honour and an endorsement of our mutual commitment to top quality products.”
Osborn claims each bottle of Eve Juice contains the juice of eight apples.
