Thailand’s retail giant Big C has announced Robert James Cissell as its new president and chief executive, as of 5 November.
Cisell joined Big C in April as chief operating officer, with a strong and international background in retail, including roles as chief executive of India’s Reliance Retail and chief operating officer of Walmart China.
Cissell succeeds Yves Braibant, who has resigned after 13 years in the position.
Big C, a subsidiary of Thailand’s Central Group and France’s Groupe Casino, operates 123 hypermarkets, 36 Big C markets and 315 Mini Big C stores as well as 151 Pure Drugstores across Thailand.
