AU Adelaide Produce Market

South Australia’s Adelaide Produce Market has rebranded, with a focus on being export friendly and internationally marketable.

The move to rename itself the ‘South Australian Produce Market’ comes on the back of the produce market’s Memorandum of Understanding with China’s largest wholesale markets, the Jiangan markets in Guangzhou, which was signed in August 2015.

“Recent market research has reveal that customers and the public are confusing us with other markets around Adelaide, and having the words ‘South Australia’ in our name will make us more internationally marketable and export friendly,” South Australia Produce Market CEO Angelo Demasi said.

“It’s a new era in the market’s life that we are very excited about. The market’s new branding will reflect its fresh, local and premium quality attributes.”

The Pooraka-based wholesale markets supplies supermarkets, greengrocers and food service providers with an estimated 290,000 tonnes of fresh produce at a wholesale value of A$590m traded through the markets each year
