Korean strawberry promotions in Malaysia

South Korea’s exports of fruit and vegetables have grown 22.9 per cent from US$248m in 2011 to US$304m in 2015, according to data from the Korea Customs Service.

Driven largely by increasing demand from Asian nations and the US, shipments of fruit including pears and strawberries rose 29.8 per cent to US$127m over the five-year period, while exports of vegetables grew 18.3 per cent to US$178m.

Taiwan, the US and Hong Kong were South Korea’s leading export markets for fruit in 2015, while Japan takes the lead on South Korean vegetable exports, followed by Taiwan and the US.
