The IGkiwi brand has been a hit with Indian consumers

Hoping to build on the success generated by its IGkiwi offering, launched earlier this year, leading Indian importer IG International has unveiled a number of new pre-packaged lines under its own brand.

Available in package sizes ranging from 500g to 2kg, the IGavocados, IGgrapes and IGapples products are aimed at introducing new imported fruit lines to Indian consumers, in a convenient format.

“The pre-pack market is huge in India and the customer responds very favourably to a pre-packed product,” said IG International director Tarun Arora. “This increases the market-value and compounds the existing high-value we have for our imported fruits. The huge success of our kiwi pre-packs prompted us to introduce three new fruits and present them as a unique offering to help further cement our brand leadership position.”

Importing 31 varieties of fruit from 22 countries, Arora said IG International would utilise its well-established distribution network to grow its in-house brands.

“Being one of the largest cold chain companies in India, we are planning to utilise the 14 locations and almost 4,000 pallets in our distribution network to provide Indian buyers with easy access to fresh, exotic fruits,” he explained.
