Leading Indian importer IG International has joined forces with major New Zealand global apple exporter Mr Apple to launch Diva apples on the Indian market.
The premium variety is naturally bright red in colour, with a rich, crisp flavour, according to a joint media release from IG and Mr Apple.
“Apples are highly sought-after in India for their abundant health benefits and juicy and crunchy wonders,” said director of IG International Tarun Arora.
Arora added that the introduction of Diva apples would help IG meet growing demand for exotic fruits in India, while satisfying consumer tastes and preferences.
The Diva apples are sweeter tasting than other varieties from New Zealand, according to the partners.
“We are extremely confident that this sweeter-tasting apple is sure to win the hearts of many in the Indian market,” said Ben McLeod, retail sales manager at Mr Apple.
“Along with IG’s vast distribution network and leadership position, we are looking forward to taking this association to greater heights.”
