FIRST-EVER BRITISH PAVILION

For the first time, Asia Fruit Logistica 2018 will feature a dedicated British pavilion, where exhibitors from the UK will come together to promote their products to the Asian market. Hosted by the Fresh Produce Journal, the stand will offer visitors the chance to meet a variety of traders from the UK to hear about their products and services, and establish new trade routes.

RICHARD HOCHFELD

Fresh produce importer and distributor Richard Hochfeld has been growing rapidly over the past couple of years and now ranks as one of the 20 biggest companies in the UK market. As it continues its upward curve, it is considering its next steps on the international stage. “Asia is home to some rapidly advancing markets,” points out managing director Alan Guindi. “We have been approached by parties within the Asian market to help develop systems and processes with all stakeholders to operate and flourish within this dynamic marketplace.” He adds: “Richard Hochfeld has a reputation as being one of the best suppliers in the UK, which is arguably one of the most advanced markets around.”

THE ORCHARD FRUIT COMPANY

The Orchard Fruit Company, featuring OrchardWorld and Norton Folgate, are first-time exhibitors at Asia Fruit Logistica this year, and will be promoting their English apples and cherries at the show. Managing director Mark Culley explains that the company has done some business on topfruit in Asia before, but is looking to see what further opportunities may exist. “There’s definitely an interest in British in Asia, and it’ll be great to have a focus on that with a British pavilion,” he says. “It’s also a great opportunity to meet up with some of our southern hemisphere suppliers.”

PROSEAL UK

Proseal is planning to showcase its range of equipment for the fast and efficient packing of a wide range of fruit and vegetables at Asia Fruit Logistica. The tray seal specialist’s recent introductions include a new Quick Release (QR) Cartridge Tool to minimise unplanned downtime, as well as a new high-speed fully-automatic tray sealer called the GT4s. The Proseal QR Cartridge Tool enables any tool to be quickly and easily removed and replaced in the event of a problem. It joins Proseal’s existing QR Conveyor, which features a modular design allowing individual sections of the infeed and outfeed conveyors to be removed for maintenance and cleaning.

JUPITER MARKETING

Shropshire-based Jupiter Marketing doesn’t just have an out-of-this-world name, it is also keen to expand its horizons as far and wide as opportunities exist. The company, which already imports kiwifruit, stonefruit and topfruit from a variety of sources, has also now begun growing grapes in Greece, India and Chile. The business has established connections in many countries and is exploring new markets in many more.
