Chile

Chile, which stands as the leading supplier of fresh fruit from the Southern Hemisphere, is reportedly planning its biggest presentation yet at next February’s Fruit Logistica fair, at which it will be the official country partner.

The country will be present with a 240m2 pavilion, representing more than 100 Chilean growers and exporters, it was announced in Berlin at the traditional reception hosted by the Chilean fresh produce industry.

At the reception, Ronald Bown, chairman of the Chilean Exporters’ Association (ASOEX), commented: “Fruit Logistica 2009 will be a great opportunity for Chile to further consolidate its position as one of Europe’s key strategic fresh fruit partners. Fruit Logistica is the most important European trade fair for Chile. It provides an ideal opportunity for growers and exporters to meet with their key partners at one location and to attract new importers, wholesalers and buyers.”
