Interpoma 2008

Interpoma, the international trade show for the apple sector, will kick off its 2008 edition today at the Fiera Bolzano Exhibition Centre in Bolzano in South Tyrol, Italy.

The show, which takes place every two years, is being held from 6-8 November 2008.

A total exhibition space of 17,000m2 will be used to showcase a comprehensive range of products and services for apple growing, storage and marketing, with exhibitors flocking from 15 different countries and a large number of conference participants and overseas visitors also expected to be in attendance.

The event boasts a new partner in the World Apple and Pear Association, which will provide speakers to address the ‘Apple in the World’ conference at the trade fair, looking at various topics relevant to apple cultivation in an international context.

The Assembly of European Fruit and Vegetable Growing Horticultural Regions also partners the event for the first time, while directors from the European Fruit Research Institutes Network working group will also be on hand to hold their annual assembly at the Italian event.

“We are very satisfied that a high number of operators from around the world have announced their participation at the conference and trade show,” said Reinhold Marsoner, managing director of Fiera Bolzano. “It goes to show that Interpoma is increasingly regarded as a reference event for the sector at an international level.”
