Maersk Line is set to transfer its Intra Asia services to MCC Transport Singapore (MCC) in a bid to offer its customers better knowledge and focus on the market.

The group said that market development indicated the region would soon become one of the largest trades in the world for containerised shipments, and thus a more specialist approach was required.

'This will result in a unique product offering for our customers; dealing with a partner who is close to the market, has attention to the specific trade requirements, and is in tune with the dynamics that influence it,' the group said in a statement. 'MCC will be our trade specialist in the Intra Asia market – serving you.'

MCC was acquired by Maersk from the East Asiatic Company in 1993, and is now one of the largest feeder operators in the world.
