GlobalGAP and ChinaGAP

GlobalGAP has announced the successful completion of the benchmarking of ChinaGAP against the GlobalGAP Good Agricultural Practice reference code.

'This is an important milestone in the collaboration of GlobalGAP with the People's Republic of China in promoting Good Agricultural Practices which was first established in 2005,' said Kristian Moeller, GlobalGAP secretary. 'Chinese producers will now be able to benefit from the rigour and world wide acceptance of the GLOBALGAP certification system.'

Wang Daning, deputy chief administrator of the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People's Republic of China (CNCA) said that the group was delighted to have come to an in important juncture in its relationship with GlobalGAP.

'ChinaGAP has two levels, firstly an entry level to encourage early adoption of Good Agricultural Practices and their certification, and a higher level where producers can receive the GlobalGAP equivalence mark which will bring international recognition to China's farm products.'
