Asia's leading trade fair event for the fresh produce industry, Asia Fruit Logistica, will kick off in September with a record number of exhibitors from 30 different countries ready to showcase their products and services.

Around 250 exhibitors from countries across the globe, including national pavilions and individual fresh produce companies from Australia, Brazil, Chile, China, France, Italy, Malaysia, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Peru, South Africa, Taiwan and the US will take part in the event.

'Asia offers fresh produce suppliers and supplying nations from around the world excellent prospects for marketing expansion and development,' said Gérald Lamusse, managing director of event organiser Global Produce Events. 'It is reflected in the strong interest we have seen in exhibitor numbers since booking opened.'

Interest in the event has grown since its inception in 2007, due to both the growing importance of the Asian market and the calibre of trade visitors that attend the fair.

'Over 80 per cent of trade visitors at Asia Fruit Logistica hold leading management positions in their companies, with 92 per cent involved in purchasing and procurement,' Mr Lamusse added.

The Asia Fruit Congress, which takes place on 2-4 September at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, runs alongside Asiafruit Congress – the region's only conference event for the fresh fruit and vegetable industry.
